My approach to therapy is, “Narrative”. This means that I see the problem as the problem, not the person as the problem. I work with many individuals, couples, and families with diverse issues, where Narrative is a successful tool. You are the expert in our conversations. You are the expert on your life, your problems, and the best solutions for you. In therapy, we discover how a problem affects your life. We work together to find your past successes in overcoming that obstacle. Then we use those successes from the past to create a new way to deal with the problem today. Many of my clients feel this is a very powerful experience.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is not easily described in general statements. Treatments vary depending on the personality of both the therapist and the client, and the particular problems that affect the client’s life. It is not like visiting a medical doctor, in that it requires a very active effort on the client’s part. In order to be most successful, the client needs to work both during sessions and at home.
